Nick Magiera graduated from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business in New York City with a major in Business Administration, a double concentration in Marketing & Management and a minor in Communications. On top of that, Nick was a 4-year starter on the Division-1 FCS Fordham Rams football team, finishing off his senior year as an unanimously-voted team captain. Nick Magiera’s business career started out at America’s largest independently-owned public relations firm, ID Public Relations, working for high profile clients such as Nintendo, Ben Stiller, Netflix, and Jennifer Lawrence. Nick Magiera quickly moved up in the marketing world by landing a job as the Marketing Manager of one of the country’s leading pool & spa manufacturers, Pleatco. “It amazed me how in-tune sales were with the quality of our marketing materials,” said Magiera. Working closely with their VP of Marketing, Nick became infatuated with the knowledge and understanding of great design, and the ability to sell things based off of quality marketing. Then Nick’s life was changed…

Nick Magiera took a short term trip to help out at a children’s home in Mozambique, Africa operated by Iris Global. “My heart was wholly and utterly crushed by the overwhelming poverty that the people of the land carried, but was also unexpectantly touched by their shear joy,” says Nick. This really put Nick’s life at a standstill. After much prayer and council, Nick Magiera decided to resign from the comforts of his life in New York City and move overseas to love on the poorest of the poor. After over two years of serving in Mozambique, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, and Cambodia Nick returned home a changed man.
Nick ultimately aspires to live overseas permanently, serving and loving on the poor. Until then, Magiera is doing what he can to help from America. Nick started World Wide Design, a graphic & website design company, and Magiera Mortgage as a way to help save the world. Nick says, “Don’t get me wrong – World Wide Design and Magiera Mortgage are capitalist companies; we’re about profit. We’re not ashamed about making money. But there’s a right way to do it. I don’t believe that we have to give up a large portion of our return to ‘do good.’ I donate at least 10% of all profit acquired to save the world. I will continue to do that no matter where I am in the world. Can you imagine if every American did that? The change would be colossal.” It was that state-of-mind where Magiera Mortgage decided to get on board with saving the world. You can view Magiera Mortgage’s own SAVE THE WORLD page to learn more.
Nick currently resides in the northwest suburbs of Chicago with his wife, Naomi.
